This product is a three in one blush, eyeshadow, and highlighter, but I found it to be way too shimmery for a highlighter or blush. I tried it on both areas and it just seems way too cakey. On the other hand it;s a beautiful eyeshadow. I love the combos I can come up with and it stays on forever by itself I don't even have to wear primer.
Pros:pretty eyeshadow, good staying power Cons:too shimmery and cakey as blush or highlighter
This is a Limited Edition product. It comes with it's own brush, that comes out of a small drawer in the front of the case. I haven't used the brush, as I prefer my own brushes. The shimmer is lovely! It's subtle, and I think it is comparable to the highlighter in my MAC Mineralized Duo. It has no smell to it. I haven't had any breakout from it either. It gives a nice glow, without being glittery or overly shimmery. It's one of my favorite new products. I just wish it wasn't LE. I would definitely repurchase.
Pros:Nice glow, no smells, didn't cause me breakouts Cons:Limited Edition
MˇAˇC 'Mineralize' Skinfinish Duo I just bought this in light and love it. It adds a perfect shimer to my fair skin. I use it over high beam by Benefit.
Pros:It is a large compact and easy to use. Cons:no mirror
Do not buy this product. It comes in fleshtones, or the illuminating pearl shade which I have and I really dislike it. It is in a clickpen and it takes about 4 or 5 clicks to get a mini drop of product. It doesn't go on smoothly and looks weird when it dries under eyes. The only use I found for it was on my browbones, but that nothing a better highlighter couldn't do.
Pros:Can highlight browbones Cons:drys in a flakey way, not good under eyes.
Let me start of by saying that this is one of my HG products. For me, it completely eliminates the need for a concealer as it disguises my dark under circles brilliantly despite its light-weight formula and causes none of the cakeyness that is associated with many full coverage concealers.
It's easy to apply and goes on smoothly with no mess or wastage. It is important to realise however that this is not a concealer. It will illuminate any dark areas but other blemishes will still need to be covered by concealer if you have them.
It's multi-purpose aswell. I use it on my nose to mouth lines to get rid of that 'puppet mouth' look as well along the outer line of my top lip to give a plumped up look to my mouth. It's a very versatile product.
I personally don't have any negative about this product. Even the price is not too much of a problem. It is a rather expensive product but for what it is, it's not overpriced. If you shop around you'll get it cheaper that the RRP anyway which is what I do. The internet is your friend remember.
Pros:Light weight formula, versatile product, alternative to under eye concealer Cons:Slightly pricey
This is an all time HG for me. I go through phases of using other highlighters, but Shimpaigne is something I always come back to.
It´s a beautiful glowy golden-bronze color, which gives your cheeks a very natural, believable glow. I get compliments on my "glow" all the time when I wear Shimpaigne.
Too bad this is limited edition. MAC brings it back every once in a while though, as a re-promote with a new collection. Get it while it´s hot! ;-)
This is my favorite Beauty Powder! I use it as a blush because it´s pigmented enough, but still subtle. You almost can´t OD with this stuff. It´s also a little bit shimmery, or glowy.
Overall, a nice sublte glowy peachy color for fair to medium skintones
got this stuff on sale for half off and am in love now, thank goodness there is a Napolean Perdis store a few blocks down from Hollywood&Highland sephora! gives a gorgeous natural glow!
Pros:-fabulous and natural glow
-comes with a cute puff Cons:
I got this in Candle Glo and thought this was pretty neat. Looking drab? Place a dab! I prefer my skin to look un-makey-upy, so this was a good help. At first it looks a little way too shimmery and I had no idea how to blend it onto my face. I love tinted moisturizers, so that's exactly what I used to blend it in. I first put on the Face Shimmer on my already moisturized face and then used my tint to blend it in. It's pretty good for this horrible glow stealing winter. The down-side is that having oily skin, a sponge applicator is not very sanitary. Plus having to continually shake the container to get the product on the sponge applicator really sucks. It's like you have to hit it from a certain direction for it to seep on the center. I really do wish it had a different applicator but for now, unless I come across something else, this is actually pretty good for 8 bucks.
Pros:Cheaper than most illuminators, not glittery Cons:has a sponge applicator, hard to get out sometimes
My info for reference:

Lightscapade is my favorite MSF. In the pan, it looks like swirls of soft pastel colors, but applied, it is a lovely highlight. Not sparkley, not glittery, but just a soft white sheer sheen. Great on the cheekbones, browbone, pretty much any area that can use some highlighting. Also ok for daytime, as it is not too shimmery.
It was LE, I think it came out with the Danse collection. As of June 2008, it has been going for about $35.
This came in a kit that I purchased. I don't like this at all. It is far too glittery. It doesn't seem to last very long, so when any highlight effect you get wears off you are left with tons of little sparkly/glittery pieces on your skin. It does apply smoothly and is easy to blend, but overall I was really disappointed in this product.
Pros:Blends easily Cons:Glittery, doesn't last long
This is one of the most versatile beauty products around. It can be used on the cheeks for a healthy glow, used on top of lipsticks for a little extra shimmer, or used on brow bone to create a lifted appearance. You get a TON for the money.
lovely to look at, but not quite usuful for a person like me who has almost completed the shimmer brick compacts. i'd rather use Rose as a blush, and Beige as a highlighter.
i received this in a swap and i've reached this for only a few times for some reason. quite similar to Beige SB but a little more pigmented. havent quite figured out how else to use this besides e/s on my PPP cool-toned skin.
I do love this High Beam by Benefit. I bought it to add some shimmer to my cheekbones and found that it could do much more. It not only acted as a delicate shimmer. but also added more of a pout to the top lip. Made lips look much fuller. One more point of interest: I have a small bump on the bridge of my nose-by appllying High Beam on the bum my nose appeared straighter--don't ask me how--doing it every day now!!!! Great product.
Pros:Color great, multi uses for product. Cons:Can only be bought at Sephora or from Benefit directly. Inconvenient.
Absolutely wonderful product! This is discontinued by Clinique, however you can easily find them on EBay for around $8 USD + shipping. Much cheaper than when Clinique carried them, I believe.
Looks wonderful on my pale ivory complexion. Gives beautiful and youthful sheen where applied. Works wonderfully on cheekbones/temples to draw out cheekbones.
Can be mixed with foundation to give an allover lustre.
Pros:Beautiful for pale complexions. Cheap on EBay. Great shimmery application. Not too distracting, though gives a beautiful youthful appearance. Cons:None. Absolutely WONDERFUL.
Recently in a "wholesale lot" of cosmetics ordered from eBay, I discovered a "Jewel". Taking it out of the box, I thought it might be nailpolish. However, this little miracle bottle-complete with brush for liquid application was a blush! I have never used liquid blush, so I thought this might be quite the challenge. After applying my photofinish, and foundation, I took the tiny brush and applied it just where I wanted my blush to be. It went on like a creamy souffle'. I usually tan or use self tanner in the summer so I look rather pale and bland in the winter--this was just the pick-up my skin needed. In Pale coral, it was an sheer color application that dried to a soft powdery finish. The neutral color had a golden shimmer and the color application was very subtle--not harsh at all. I do not know if this blush is still available--if so I recommend it highly. It gives the face a soft, ethereal finish. I love it!!!
Pros:Beautiful subtle color and easy application. Any skin tone could use it. Cons:It is a little expensive--but for the amount you would use--it's a good price. No cons.
